Fowles-led USA stuns Korea 92-56

(Beijing, April 21) Sylvia Fowles scored game high 20 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, leading USA to a 92-56 victory over Korea in the "Good Luck Beijing" CNPC 2008 Women's Basketball International Invitational Tournament this afternoon at the Beijing Olympic Basketball Gymnasium.

Prior to this match, both four-time Olympic champions USA and Korea finished with 1W-1L in the tournament.

USA's Lisa Leslie also reached double-double, 16 points with 12 rebounds. Candice Wiggins and Katie Smith each added 11 in the win.

Jung Sun Min and Beon Yeon Ha scored 13 apiece for Korea in the defeat and Choi Youn Ah added 11.

USA outrebounded Korea 57-18 and made 34 out of 60 from the field, compared to 17 out of 44 by the Koreans.

The US players dominated the match throughout, leading 23-13 after the first quarter and 39-28 at half time.

USA never gave Korea a chance in the second half as they gained a 30-point advantage in the beginning of the fourth quarter and captured the 92-56 win in style.
