

(Beijing, April 21) China extended its winning streak to three games tonight after beating New Zealand 99-73 in the "Good Luck Beijing" CNPC 2008 Women's Basketball International Invitational Tournament. Chen Nan, again, was in the spotlight with a game-high of 26 points and eight rebounds in the victory.
Bian Lan notched 15 points and seven rebounds and Zhang Fan added 12 points for China. Sui Feifei gradually regained her form to score 9, but guard Miao Lijie only offered one assist and two steals in the match.
Angela Marino connected on 13 points, Noni Wharemate added 11 and Micaela Cocks had 10 for New Zealand, who suffered its third consecutive loss.
The field goal percentage of the two sides was 64%-41% and China also outrebounded its counterpart 40-23.
China opened the game on a 6-0 run and was up 27-12 after the first quarter. New Zealand sent six bench players two minutes into the second period and China widen the gap to 50-28 at half time. Center Chen Nan of the host team erupted for 21 points in the first half.
Sui Feifei hit China's first three-pointer in the third quarter and helped China make it 74-53 after this period.
More turnovers and fouls were produced early in the fourth quarter. Chen Nan hit one out of two free throws to enlarge China's lead to 83-58 and Zhang Fan's lay-up widened the margin to 31 points. Chen Nan was called off with four minutes left in the quarter, earning 26 points in total. New Zealand fell 99-73 at the buzzer.
