(Beijing, 26 April) - Comments from Cuban coach Alberto Zabala and Australian coach Janette Mary Stirling after Australia beat Cuba 65 - 61.

Alberto Zabala (CUB) - Coach

On losing the game:
"Last Monday we beat Australia, one of the strongest teams in the world. Today they defended so well in the first half against our guards that they led by a large margin. We strengthened our defense in the second half with a full court press so that they couldn't easily lay up. Also we made them turn the ball over a lot. We did well in free-throws. The Australian coach had a very deep bench rotation. We came here to  prepare better for the Olympic qualification round. I think our goals have been met."

Janette Mary Stirling (AUS) - Coach

On winning the game:
"It was our goal today to defeat a team that had beat us a few days ago, and we have reached that goal."

On playing against physical teams in international tournaments:
"I gave comments at the half time break that Cuba was going to come out very physical in the second half and they were really going to stick it up. In Australia the system of referees won't allow that physicality. So we need to play three or four games to get used to it. Yes, it is an issue for us."
